After my move from CA to TX in 2011, I looked for 2 years to find a Bollywood dance class. After watching a friend's posts about her dance group in Houston, I kept hoping Rhythm India would expand to the DFW area. In October 2013 my prayers were answered when Arzan and Arthi held a demo class. Right from the first move, I was blown away by not just the choice of music, but the technique and attitude in the movements.
After being part of 3 dance classes that fizzled out in a month due to lack of interest, I am happy to report I am proudly a part of an amazing dance school after 4 months. We have already performed twice in such a short amount of time. The Houston office has been very patient in letting our group grow with all the pains that come with a start-up operation, and Arzan's subtle involvement and assurance keeps us going.
 
And all this success and enthusiasm is all thanks to the incredibly talented teacher/manager/pioneer team member - Ms. Arthi Gee. Coming into an overly crowded yet lukewarm DFW environment, all odds were against Arthi. She was willing to work with a small group. With gentle criticism, intense energy and almost impossible hope in our talents, Arthi has transformed my life. Even on the most tired days, I look forward to my Sunday dance class and am not afraid to move it like Jagger (or Madhuri in our case) :-) She teaches us not just fun dance moves but constantly works on grace, technique and perfection. She never lets us feel as old as our legal age and makes us push our limits...and I am loving it!

Anjali has been a student of a few Bollywood dance companies over the past years since she started dancing when she was 3. But ever since we met Arzan and came to Rhythm India a few years back, we have had the best fit. Anjali is now 9 and as always... truly loves Ms. Arzan! For her Girl Scouts project she chose her future business to be a dance school. She had replicated everything she knew about Rhythm India -- down to the very same fees for the classes! But, what is there not to love? She is very popular among her students and a most energetic dancer! Her talents and rhythm make anyone want to hop out of their chair and join her! She commands her large classes well and is able to teach difficult and fast steps to such young girls. Rhythm India's performances turn out to be so breathtaking, we wish the show was not over so soon. Looking back 5 years ago I would have never imagined that Rhythm India would achieve so much. In 2008, when I joined there was no company, it was just Arzan Gonda and her dancers. From then we have performed at film festivals, Rockets games, Holi and Diwali functions and so any more places which I will always cherish in my heart. I am so proud and excited to be a part of this magnificent journey with Arzan aunty and the rest of the dancers. A big thank you goes to Arzan aunty who has taught me what it truly means to dance from the inside and feel the music. I would have never developed the self confidence and stage presence that I have now without her. She is my role model, my teacher, and I am her number 1 fan. Bollywood Dancing has picked up so much that there are many people teaching around these places. We did look into a few, while doing so came accross Rhythm India taught by Ms Arzan. I was awe struck from the word go... Ms Arzan is the most energetic teacher I have ever met ever since I set out my search for a dance teacher as my eldest daughter wanted to join Bollywood dancing about 12 years ago and that was in Qatar. After settling in the US, began my search again. Definitely my search ended the day I saw Ms Arzan with her kids 3 years ago.  Although I could not fit in the time and place that she was teaching at that time. I waited till last year to put my youngest daughter in Rhythm India class. I am so happy and proud to have met Ms Arzan, the Director of Rhythm India and have her as my daughter's Danceteacher.

I first heard about Rhythm India at India House when I saw the senior company practicing there on Sundays! I went home and looked y'all up and found amazing pictures and videos of your first Rockets Half-Time Show performance! I soon joined Rhythm India and auditioned for the junior company! I think what was most appealing to me was the creative choreography, energetic songs, and professional style learning! For me, dance is the ultimate relaxation (and it's my favorite kind of exercise). Dancing takes full focus when I'm dancing at class and practice and helps me relieve the tension that builds up through intense school work. I am happy to say that dancing with Rhythm India is an important and fun part of my life! Through Rhythm India, I've learned how to have better stage presence, I've become more expressive, I've become a more confident choreographer, and I have a lot of fun with dance. Every week, we learn other dancer's choreography, choreograph our own, and practice! This process of dancing with Rhythm India adds loads of fun to my week and I love performing with the whole company! I am most proud when I have finished learning the dance and am able to thoroughly enjoy it, because I have made the choreography muscle memory and am enacting the emotions of the song!

We moved to Houston from New Jersey in 2008 looking for better school, housing, and job opportunities in 2008.  We realized our goal within a year and were looking for outdoor activities for kids.  We enrolled Chelsea in Ballet for one year and didn’t feel too happy about it.  We had to push her for the classes and noticed that she didn’t seem to enjoy much as a five year old.  We happened to see Rhythm India starting classes in Katy and enrolled her for the first class in Katy End Zone.  Life changed for Chelsea ever after.  Meeting Arzan is one of the best thing happened to Chelsea.
In the beginning, of course, we enjoyed Bollywood music and watched our kid throw her legs around but as the months and years passed Chelsea became more serious in her dancing and wouldn’t let go.  Her first performance in one of our family reunion became a hit and earned her lot of laurels.  Dancing brought her courage to stand and perform in front of a group of people for Chelsea who otherwise was a shy little girl.  Thanks to Arzan, exposing these little girls to small group and sometimes as big as few hundreds have only increased their confidence, self-reliance and self-esteem.  Now, it is a routine in our house parties for Chelsea to show her moves.  Rhythm India is playing a major role in these kids helping them express their personalities.  For us as parents, it is so overwhelming to see our kids connect to our community and culture.  It is a joy to watch them on stage breaking free and enjoy themselves.We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Arzan and her group for bringing the community together through Rhythm India and bringing a sense of achievement for these kids.  We won’t be shy to say Arzan and Rhythm India has given our daughter a passion, identity, and confidence.  It makes us happy and fulfilled.  Thank you Rhythm India!

Arzan’s class is definitely Sanjana’s favorite hour of the week!! She feels so alive and free from all the endorphins right after class! I love dancing. It's apart of my whole life. I'm in junior intermediate 2, and I have been dancing for about 3 years. Arzan aunty is so amazing. Sayali started with Rhythm India 2 years ago. That was her first introduction in to Indian dance and she fell in love with Bollywood dancing and more than that with Miss Arzan. Now she couldn't stop dancing and I find her dancing in front of the mirror while brushing her teeth to singing and dancing in the shower. I noticed that she has become very confident and start dancing at any Bollywood songs at parties.The Indian girls in her class even teach each other the steps during recess, which I thought was wonderful!!! When I asked her what she likes about Rhythm India class, she said "I like to dance with my friends from my school , I like Miss Arzan and I like the Bollywood music, and she said one of the boys in the dance class told her he wants to learn dancing and go in to Hollywood:))

Rhythm India saved my life in graduate school by providing me an outlet for my stress, passion, and my creativity. I have been obsessed with the Bollywood culture and dance since a young age and this company gave me unlimited access to both. She had the moves, now she has the grooves. Ever since we can remember, Rukshana has loved to move to music and could go on for hours. Unfortunately, we did not have any place to send her where she could develop her hobby into anything meaningful. There were no such opportunities in the city she was born. Two years ago we moved to Houston and heard about Arzan’s dance class through friends. We decided to enroll Rukshana and give it a try. Wow!!!! I did not realize that thanks to the dance class I could get Rukshana to do almost anything!!! She knows if her grades are not good, room is not cleaned, behavior is not good, etc. – no dance class. Thanks Arzan, I am not sure what you do in that class but I get results out of her. I even got her to learn her Navjote prayers in no time. In her two years she has missed class once and now I have joined too!!! It is true Bollywood, filled with wonderful choreography, energy and perfection. Thank you so much for being our daughter’s dance teacher and our school of choice for the past five years. We want to take this opportunity to thank you personally for the 4+ amazing years of dance - it has been time well spent. Our daughter Tanaya’s, love for dance started at the age of six. At first, it was for fun and recreation, but it soon became a weekly ritual to the dance class/studio. We are very lucky to have in you, such a talented teacher (and experienced dancer) who sincerely loves to teach, is knowledgeable, caring, and an enthusiastic instructor. 
Your passion for dancing has been contagious and you have perfected the balance of detail/perfection while maintaining the fun energy of dance. There has been no sense of pressure or negative criticism - you have really catered for the different levels of dancing ability while encouraging people to be the best dancers, they can be. I don't think this is an easy balance to achieve as a teacher, but you have done it! You expect much from your students and in return, receive the utmost respect and dedication from them. The quality of dance instruction and the dedication to your passion is next to none.

I have been coming to Rhythm India for 2 years. Look forward to my dance class with Ms Arzan every week. I can say this is my most favorite class in the whole week and I love the dances and music that is picked for us. I would like to say that my daughter Serena has been dancing Bollywood for six years (now 10) and she thoroughly enjoys being in Arzan’ s class. She was first enrolled in a different Bollywood program before Rhythm –India came along and I have to say that this is by far the best group/program ever.  Arzan is a committed, patient, dedicated, and an exceptional teacher. Her expertise and love for dancing has brought the best in our girls. I also like the fact that not only does Rhythm India teach our girls to have fun, and be self disciplined in their dancing, but it also teaches them about philanthropy which was obvious in the Dance for Life benefit. I am very proud of my daughter and her accomplishments in dancing and for Arzan and her talents for teaching my daughter.
